Community Values

Our community vision is how we view the future. This vision is captured by the following:

  • To provide a healthy, safe and accessible community with infrastructure and services that make it the perfect place to raise children and to live.
  • To be a proud community, helping our neighbours, with elders and youth involved in all community activities.
  • To recapture our history, culture, traditions and stories. To revive our language.
  • To develop a strong economy that encourages member entrepreneurship, and employment. To develop an economy that will provide significant revenue to the MMFN and generate wealth for our community.
  • To respect the environment and avoid harming the earth, the water and the air, as well as reverse any damages that may have been caused in the past. To preserve our land for future generations.
  • To have a strong government and leadership that is responsive and transparent to our members. To deliver programs and develop laws and regulations that protect and enhance lives within our community.
  • To provide the best educational opportunities to our youth and all members.

Values

Our teachings, principles and values are rooted in wisdom, bravery, honesty, humility, caring, respect, and acceptance. Our government will always be oriented towards serving the membership and strive to exercise good governance.
